Life in MN

Today we arrived home from 6 wonderful days in Northern MN and the Iron Range. It was a delightful time. The first three nights we spent at my dad's. At his house, we were treated to fresh, homegrown, green beans, homemade raspberry jam and muffins made with fresh raspberries, home made pickles and wonderful cooking. It was so nice to see Kiran get to spend some time with my dad and Norma.

On Friday, we moved on to Tower and Lake Vermilion. Friday night, Kiran had a treat, she got to swim in the lake with her clothes on. She thought that was hoot.
Saturday we spent part of the day hanging with my Grandma and all her wonderful baked goods. We were treated to potica, blueberry strudel and chocolate chip cookies. During the afternoon we went to a lovely beach where the water was so clear you could see the fish.

The weather was hot and humid for those parts of MN. It was difficult sleeping because most homes don't have air conditioning and the lake only helps so much. When we opened the door to our house, in Apple Valley, and the temperature was 85 degrees inside and 100 outside. The air is still trying to cool down our house.

It was the most relaxed I have been in a year or so.... I love going away but it is always nice coming home and sleeping in ones own bed.

Hope all is well with everyone and I hope to catch up tomorrow.

PS-For those of you who know cars, is it possible for the check engine light to come on because of bad gas and once the gas is gone, the light would go off???? My car is running fine, but on Monday night, the light came on. I brought it in to be checked before we left on Tuesday and they couldn't find anything wrong. After 250 miles the light went off.
Comments:
If it's causing the engine to misfire, then yes it could cause the light to come on. Also if it's got "something funky" in it, when it burns it could screw with the oxygen sensor(s) and that would trip the light as well, but when you refilled and diluted it, or burnt enough of it, it would turn back off. If your engine is fuel injected, sometimes it could screw with the injectors and cause the light to come on as well.

Always try to stick with "name brand" stations, be it an oil co., or QuikTrip, etc., unless it's an emergency. That bait and tackle shop that also sells gas may have been sitting on it for a long time, might not have changed the filters on their pumps in forever, if they even have any...

If it acts up again, write me if you have a chance. Not much I can do from so far away, but you are welcome to pick my little mind!

If it's fuel injected and you think it was "bad gas" then a bottle or two of injector cleaner in the next few tankfuls might be cheap insurance. My Chevy dealer stocks "Wynn's" in the service shop...

:o)
